2017

Nor-Cal Beverage Co. celebrated 80 years of excellence. The company officially celebrated in 2018 with employees, family, and friends from both West Sacramento and Anaheim facilities. In May of 2018, Nor-Cal lost its beloved Donald Deary. The end of an amazing era was upon Nor-Cal; however, the third generation, already in tow, was ready to pick up where Don had left off. Today, 2019, Nor-Cal is still a Deary family owned business, ran by the third generation with the fourth generation not far behind.

2007

In 2005, Nor-Cal Beverage Co. decided to launch its own Go Girl Sugar-Free Energy Drink line. In 2007, the board decided to sell its Cadbury Schweppes bottling and distribution rights so that the company could retool to increase its contract manufacturing capabilities. This decision brought the ground-up renovation of Nor-Cal’s West Sacramento facility. The project added two hot-fill lines and one for hot or cold filling.

1999

In 1993, the company began in earnest co-packing box juices for the Minute Maid division of Coca-Cola. By 1998, Nor-Cal had established a solid working relationship with Coca-Cola and was approached to purchase its Anaheim facility. In 1999, Coca-Cola and Nor-Cal entered into a lease agreement for the Anaheim facility, which was later purchased by the company in 2001. Sadly, Nor-Cal’s beloved Roy “Grant” Deary II passed away in April, leaving Don and the third generation to run the company.

1974

As the business expanded into new areas and took on new bottling franchises, it became clear that it was time to move away from the Hires Bottling Co. name. In 1974, the company incorporated as Nor-Cal Beverage Company and soon acquired an old cannery and 43 acres along the deep-water channel in West Sacramento. Around 1978, Nor-Cal purchased their corporate offices across from their production plant in West Sacramento that remain there today.
