Gloria Resendiz has worked for Nor-Cal Beverage since 2001. She has been in customer service for more than 20 years and is part of our Distribution Center team in West Sacramento. She loves interacting with customers and makes sure to build lasting relationships with them throughout the years. As part of our April Employee Highlight, we wanted to share Gloria’s story with co-workers and friends.

Gloria was born and raised in Dixon, California. She has two sisters and is the middle child. Gloria graduated from Dixon High School in 1994. Gloria married young and upon graduating, had her first baby boy. She decided to be a stay-at-home mom to take care of her son until her son was a few years old. In 1997, Gloria welcomed her second son. By 1999, Gloria was ready for a part-time job and started looking in her area for job opportunities.

Gloria began working for a warehouse that was 5 minutes away from her house. There she met Patty Olvera. They worked together for about a year in the warehouse in Dixon until Patty left to work for Nor-Cal Beverage. A year later, Patty reached out to Gloria to let her know Nor-Cal Beverage was hiring. The company was in search of an Administrative Assistant and Patty believed Gloria was a perfect fit. Gloria hesitated at first because of the commute, but she decided to apply. Gloria was interviewed and became an official Nor-Cal Beverage employee in February of 2001. Patty is also employed by Nor-Cal Beverage today.

Gloria first worked for Gail Lettington as an Administrative Assistant for the Production facility. Gloria would help at the front desk while researching and tracking discrepancies on items. She held the administrative position until the company acquired the warehouse on Industrial Blvd. Gloria then moved to the new warehouse to work closely with the Sales team, including Pete Grego, helping with administrative and customer support. In 2005, when Nor-Cal Beverage closed the soda division, Gloria started working in our distribution center warehouse in customer service, shipping and receiving, and other administrative tasks. By 2016, Gloria became a Customer Account Representative and in 2017, she was promoted to Senior Account Representative. Gloria worked hard throughout the years and in 2022, she became the Administrative Supervisor and holds this position today.

Gloria says she has continued her employment with Nor-Cal Beverage all these years because everyone is like family. “At Nor-Cal, everyone is so close, and we are all a big family and support each other.”, she said. There have also been numerous system integrations, expansions, and positive changes. Gloria is happy she was part of them. “It’s exciting knowing that I have been here for as long as I have and have seen the company grow so much, it’s rewarding.”, she said. Nor-Cal Beverage would not be where it is today without its people and their dedication and support towards one another. “There are a lot of team players who are helpful and supportive, we have a great team here!”, she said. Gloria believes the support of her team is what makes Nor-Cal Beverage so special. “Even though it’s stressful with all the customers we have, we all work hard to make it happen. I enjoy everything I do.”, she said.

Gloria has not only been dedicated to Nor-Cal Beverage but is also a supportive mother. Her sons are all grown up, but they inspire her to keep working hard and to put in that extra effort every day. “My parents and my kids inspire me and push me to keep going. Everything I do and why I work so hard is for my kids and family.” If Gloria is not at work, she loves to spend time with her dogs and watching her favorite baseball team play. Gloria is also a big foodie and enjoys trying new restaurants in the area with her husband.
