As the business expanded into new areas and took on new bottling franchises, it became clear that it was time to move away from the Hires Bottling Co. name. In 1974, the company incorporated as Nor-Cal Beverage Company and soon acquired an old cannery and 43 acres along the deep-water channel in West Sacramento. Around 1978, Nor-Cal purchased their corporate offices across from their production plant in West Sacramento that remain there today.
